HIT is based in Thessaloniki, with a regional office in Athens.

HIT owns unique equipment which, among others, includes:

• 180⁰ Dynamic driving simulator
• Research vehicles equipped with Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS)
• 5 "clean" technology vehicles including one hybrid
• Mobile driving simulator for simulating driving under the influence of alcohol
• Virtual reality environment with specialized software
• Mobile laboratory for traffic, and environmental maesurements and testing of road materials
• A state-of-the-art Internet portal for data and information, as well as service provision(e.g. running of transportation software applications)
