European Research Team Develops Portable Nanocantilever Biosensor

Sep 18, 2006  - A portable biosensor capable of detecting specific genetic sequences has been created using nanoscale technologies in a microfluidics device. The novel biosensor was created by European researchers, led by Laura Lechuga, Ph.D., of the Spanish Microelectronics National Center. This portable nano device, which is capable of real-time monitoring, could be used to detect the presence of cancer-associated genetic changes. The research report has been published in the journal Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical.
