Viennano '09: 3rd Vienna International Conference on Nano-Technology
[18-20 Mar 2009]

>> Mechanical aspects of nano-technology stretch from increased strength of construction materials over the controlled reduction of the shear resistance of tribological applications to the conditioning of surfaces in either adhesive or anti-adhesive way.

>> Nano-effects can be induced by the introduction of nanoparticles into conventional materials such as metals or polymers. Here technological questions like particle dispersion or aggregation have to be answered.
Additionally nano-effects are achievable by material conversion due to high stresses or thermal treatment.

>> Conference topics:

  • Metal matrix conversion, grain size effects
  • Nano particle-polymer interaction
  • Mechanically-induced chemical reactions
