>> NCCR Frontiers in Genetics will promote interaction among the several research groups engaged in the study of gene expression, chromosome structure and development, and it will create in the Lemanic region a centre of excellence in research and education as well as a centre of cutting-edge technology.
>> The scientific aim of this network is to bridge gaps between the three levels of complexity that have to be integrated to advance in genetic research:
• the genes at the molecular level,
• the nucleus at the cellular level,
• the developing embryo at an organismal level.
>> A NCCR must:
- conduct research of internationally recognised quality
- foster knowledge and technology transfer
- lead post-graduate education programmes
- assume promotion of women researchers
