Achievements

ΗΙΤ has been recognized as "Centre of Excellence" in Driver Behaviour issues, and has, since 2001, delivered more than 100 research projects.

HIT's achievements include:

• Fatigue, alcohol effects  and hypno-vigilance effects on driving capability
• Behavioral models for aged and vulnerable users 
• Assessing the impacts of clean vehicles 
• Books for traffic education in secondary level Greek schools 
• Public awareness campaigns for road safety 
• Internet based information provider 
• Accident management in tunnels 
• Regulations for the improvement of work zone safety   
• Feasibility studies for large Transport infrastructure projects 
• Service organization and provision in maritime and land transport 

Academic Excellence

HIT's research team publishes each year approximately 30 papers in scientific journals and Conferences.

Since 2001, HIT has:

>> published over 150 educational interviews of HIT's staff in mass media, and
