The objectives of the ISTS'07 is to bring together leading scientists and engineers from around the world to discuss
> the directions,
> limitations and
> challenges that face Information Storage Technologies as they strive to reach densities of a Terabit/in2 and beyond.
The advantages, difficulties and timing of paradigm shifts into perpendicular recording, HAMR, patterned media, probe storage and other alternative technologies will be the
central theme of this Symposium.
Magnetic, optical, solid state and other alternative technologies will be discussed with emphasis on both fundamental and practical limits.
