European Week for Waste Reduction

>> After four years of successful implementation, the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) extends its scope to recycling in order to help increase awareness on resource efficiency and circular economy, and change the behaviour of European citizens regarding waste and resource management, in particular in countries where sorting and recycling rates are still low

The actions implemented in the EWWR are addressing the “3Rs”: Reduce waste, Reuse products, Recycle material.

>> The European Week for Waste Reduction aims to:

Raise awareness about the waste reduction strategies & about policies of the EU and its Member States
Promote sustainable waste reduction actions across Europe
Highlight the work accomplished by various actors, through concrete examples of waste reduction
Encourage changes in the behaviour of Europeans (consumption, production) in everyday life

>> The fith European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), will take place on 16-24 November 2013 in various European locations.
