The first prize for best poster of the “8th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management”, which was held in Thessaloniki, 23-25 June 2021, was awarded to the team of the Chemical Process and Energy Resources Institute of CERTH. The scientific publication was recognized as the best poster among 200 presented in the conference.
The poster is entitled “Impact of hydrogenation on miscibility of fast pyrolysis bio-oil with refinery fractions towards bio-oil refinery integration” and involves the compatibility study of hydrogenated pyrolysis bio-oil with petroleum fractions towards the potential utilization of bio-oil as an alternative co-feed in underlying refinery units, rendering low carbon fuels.
CPERI/CERTH’s research team consists of: S. Bezergianni, A. Dimitriadis and D. Liakos. Instrumental was the contribution of prof. M. Moustaka-Gouni (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Biology department), Dr. U. Pfisterer (BP Europe) and prof. D. Karonis (National Technical University of Athens, Chemical Engineering department).
