Probiotic and prebiotic science has developed enormously during the last decade in the same time the ecology of gastro-intestinal microflora has been considered as a key player in strengthening the digestive system and enhancing immune response.
Scientific evidence that probiotics could play therapeutic and health promoting role in the human gastrointestinal tract (GIT) have made industrials from the food-feed and personal care areas more and more interested in considering nutraceuticals- and cosmeceuticals-probiotics-based products to market.
The
aim of this workshop is to allow participants to face the different aspects of the use of probiotics’ industrial application:
>> scientific (health benefits’ claim)
>> regulation (risk assessment / EC regulation rules) and
>> technical (shelf-life, control release, stabilisation) issues.
