DRYLIG Final Workshop 2017

The Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUT) and the Chemical Process and Energy Resources Institute of CERTH (CPERI/CERTH) co-organize the Final Workshop for the DRYLIG project which will be held on Thursday, 8th June 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland.

The main aim of the DRYLIG project is the upgrade of lignite, an indigenous energy resource for several European countries, through the application of suitable drying technologies and the use of the upgraded fuel in applications relevant to the new market conditions for hard coal and lignite-fired power plants. In particular, the use of dry lignite can assist operators of coal power plants to increase the operational flexibility through the reduction of the technical minimum load, enhance efficiency in partial load operation and reduce costs by the substitution of imported auxiliary and supporting fuels, such as fuel oil.

The Final Workshop of DRYLIG will present the main outcomes of the research activities of the project, perspectives from representatives of the Polish coal sector as well as presentations of third companies with relevant activities. The workshop is aimed at plant operators, utilities and the research and academic community.

Participation in the final workshop is free. More information about the workshop and the online registration form can be found in the following link: http://www.drylig.pwr.edu.pl.

The DRYLIG project is co-funded through the Research Fund for Coal and Steel of the European Commission under research grant No RFCR-CT-2014-00009.
