Dr. Dimitrios Rakopouos researcher of the Chemical Process and Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) of CERTH and on e of the authors of the awarded article, presents the research work of the team it during the Conference
The 7th International Conference of Recent Trends in Environmental Science and Engineering (RTESE 2023), which was conducted in Canada, 4th-6th June 2023, has awarded CERTH/CPERI’s paper with the Best Paper Award, among 36 more participations
The paper is entitled “Sustainable and Optimized Black Start in Microgrids”, co-authored by Ms. Maria Fotopoulou and Dr. Dimitrios Rakopoulos, who also presented it in the Conference.
It presents an optimization methodology to perform black start in microgrids after a blackout, utilizing the local storage systems and Renewable Energy Sources (RES). This research was conducted in the context of TIGON, a Horizon 2020 European research project, under Grant Agreement: 957769.
