| Description | The General Secretariat for Research and Technology is seeking a senior research scientist to take up the position of the director of the Institute of Biomedical & Biomolecular Research of CERTH (IBBR-CERTH). |
| The Institute |
IBBR was established in 2007, as one of the six Institutes of the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas - CERTH. CERTH is the largest research centre in Northern Greece, it was founded in March 2000 and is a non-profit organization that directly reports to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), of the Greek Ministry of Development. |
| The Function | Candidates should be able: To develop and direct biomedical research and technological developments in the areas of biomedical informatics, biomedical engineering, molecular medicine and pharmacogenetics. To manage the operation and administration of the Institute, therefore, management experience as well as planning, organization and communication skill are considered an asset. To write research grant proposals and to demonstrate initiative and leadership. |
| Requirements | Candidates must have a PhD in any of the related subjects of the Institute and a solid scientific and publication record. Previous experience in similar positions is highly desirable. |
| Status | This is a full-time position. |
| Language | For EU applicants sufficient knowledge of the Greek language is necessary. |

| The Director is directly appointed by the Minister of Development, and the initial appointment is for five years. | |
