Lockheed Martin and the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) presented the "Cyber-Physical Infrastructure & Cyber Range STEM" programme during an event that took place at the Collaboration Conference Centre of CERTH's main facilities in Thessaloniki.
Lockheed Martin will support this educational STEM programme, which aims to bring participants into direct contact with both the research infrastructure and CERTH’s Lifelong Learning Centre. The initiative creates meaningful and realistic learning opportunities by connecting modern cyber-physical technologies and security infrastructure with academic education and research.
The collaboration brings together two organizations with exceptionally strong expertise in their respective fields; Lockheed Martin, global leader in aerospace, defense, and advanced technologies, and CERTH, one of Greece's leading research centers with a significant presence and activity in the European research and innovation ecosystem.
Through this partnership, the connection of the research and academic community with advanced technological approaches in the field of cybersecurity and cyber-physical systems is strengthened.
For its part, CERTH leverages its research expertise and modern infrastructure to support experiential and applied forms of education. By using Cyber Range environments and cyber-physical infrastructure, students, young researchers, and members of the academic community will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with modern cybersecurity technologies and methodologies. This will be achieved through practical training and experimentation in conditions that closely simulate real-world technological environments.
The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration between research organisations and international technological bodies to cultivate advanced digital skills, develop a highly skilled workforce, and prepare the next generation of scientists and engineers for the demands of modern cyber-physical systems and the constantly evolving field of cybersecurity.
